CHARLOTTE, N.C. (April 17, 2024) – Carolina Ascent FC announced today the hiring of graphic designer, Brooke Brown, ahead of the inaugural 2024-25 season. Brown joins the organization from Campbell University where she was the Director of Creative Content for the athletic department.
“Brooke will be a key addition to our front office staff as we continue the climb towards our inaugural season,” stated VP of Marketing and Communications, Ashley Osiecki. “Brooke’s all encompassing graphic design and digital media experience will help guide our creative efforts, and elevate our brand identity, to showcase and empower the soccer community of the Carolinas.”
Brown is a two-time graduate of Campbell University. During her time in Buies Creek, North Carolina, she worked with numerous programs in the athletic department. She began as a Digital Media Intern, helping produce highlight videos, manage social media accounts, and create engaging content.
“I am incredibly excited to be a part of bringing the highest level of women’s professional soccer to my hometown,” Brown expressed. “To be on the forefront of empowering female athletes across all ages means a lot to me and is a major reason why I chose Carolina Ascent.”
After less than a year, Brown transitioned to the Director of Social Media & Video role for Campbell Baseball. She led all efforts for photography, graphic design, and videography while also managing social media accounts across all platforms. Her content was featured on NCAA Baseball and College Baseball Hub.
Due to her success with the baseball program, Brown was promoted to the Director of Creative Content for the athletic department at Campbell. One of her biggest undertakings was guiding the department through a complete rebrand of logos and social media branding aided heavily by graphic design. Brown was also vital in the university’s transition to the Coastal Athletic Association in highlighting each sport’s historic accomplishments.
Brown’s graphic design experience at Campbell included social media content, print materials, promotional items, and scoreboard assets. She also assisted with photography and videography needs along with special projects and event support as needed.
In addition to her traditional creative content duties, Brown also lended her talents to other initiatives at Campbell. Brown served as Co-Chair of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Committee, coordinating social media pieces to spotlight student-athletes. Furthermore, Brown was an integral part of fundraising initiatives on social media for the Fighting Camel Club, Women’s Empowerment Fund, and other athletics initiatives.
“We’re delighted for so many reasons on the hiring of Brooke. We searched a long time for just the right fit,” stated Carolina Ascent FC COO Tim Schuldt. “Once again, we’ve been able to live up to our commitment and open-up opportunities for more women in professional soccer, but to be able to bring Brooke home, and for us to secure such excellent experience is a testament to the Super League and the type of organization we are building for the Carolinas! The climb to the top continues!”
