CHARLOTTE, N.C. (June 22, 2023) – Super League Carolina, the western Carolina’s first women’s professional soccer team, today announced Amanda Cover as the club’s Manager of Digital Marketing and Communications. Cover interned with the Charlotte Independence during the summer of 2022. She returns to the Queen City after eight months as the Assistant Director of Media Relations at Mercer University where she led all communications efforts for the school’s men’s basketball, baseball, and men’s and women’s tennis programs.
“I’m thrilled to be part of a great organization working to grow women’s soccer in the area,” Cover stated. “I can’t wait to help build this club with the fans, and our front office, as we move closer to kickoff in 2024!”
Cover is finishing up her Master of Science in Sport Management from Florida State University, where she also completed her undergraduate degree with a Bachelor of Science in Sport Management. While at Florida State, Cover was a Founding Officer of the Women in Sport Association. She was also a Sports Information Graduate Assistant working with the Men’s Tennis program during the Fall of 2022, creating social media content, writing press releases, compiling stats and photographing matches.
As a Communications, Social Media and Digital Marketing Intern for the Charlotte Independence in 2022, Cover assisted with both the club’s USL League One Men’s Professional Team and USL W League Women’s Pre-Professional Team.
The previous summer, Cover was a Marketing and Communications Assistant for Strive Football Group. She assisted with social media for FC Miami City and PSG Academy.
Cover also brings event experience to Super League Carolina, with previous stints as a Community Ambassador during Super Bowl LV, Activator during Super Bowl LIV and Festival Support Intern for the Orange Bowl Committee.
